Time for my thoughts on this week’s episode. There are numerous sites that do recaps so I’m not going to necessarily do that, but I am going to share my thoughts on what happened.

Season 6, Episode 16 – What They Died For
~Desmond is certainly doing his darnedest to get everyone in the flash sideways to remember to Island. Will they all be drawn to go there? What’s the point in making them remember if they don’t move forward on doing something about it?
~So beautiful to see Ben’s reaction to finding out Richard buried Alex.
~Finally Jacob appears to Jack, Hurley, Sawyer, & Kate. It was interesting to hear the reason for his marking Kate’s name out in the cave, but also that it didn’t have to stay that way. It was her decision. “It’s just a line of chalk.”
~Ben appears to jump back to the evil side or does he just hate Widmore so much that he told Not John where to find him. Ben is certainly a character!
~Loved seeing Ben & Rousseau together in the flash sideways.
~What did Widmore tell Not John?!!!!? I’m dying to know. And again I ask, is Ben just hating Widmore so much that he’s willing to kill him or has his evil self reemerged?
~Still not grasping why Widmore had to bring Desmond back. He said Desmond is a last resort. Hmm……
~Jacob’s confession to the 4 & telling them he brought them there because they were all flawed & they needed the island – powerful! And you had to know Jack would be the one who would volunteer. That didn’t surprise me at all!
~The power of Jack drinking the water & it giving him all the knowledge he needs was amazing to watch. The change in him was so visibly evident.
~Had to laugh when it was Ana Lucia who helped Desmond, Sayid, & Kate.
~Can’t wait to see Desmond’s role in all this & get some more answers. It will be an amazing finale for sure!
~That’s all for this episode. Can you believe the end is 2 days away! I’d love to hear your thoughts & theories on anything I’ve written about or something you think I might have missed.

Season 6, Episode 15 – Across the Sea
~All the history we got through this episode was indeed enlightening!
~Does the crazy lady who kills Claudia remind anyone else of Claire????
~OK, here’s my theory about crazy lady. I think she tells Jacob & Man in Black (whose name I believe to be Esau) not to go into the cave of light because she has been there & it changed her into this crazy person.
~Seeing the good & bad that Jacob & Man in Black do really blurs the line of who is good & who is evil!
~So many questions were answered, like the donkey wheel & the bottle of wine. Grateful for those answers.
~Man in Black killing crazy lady is also reminiscent of Ben killing Jacob! The knife right into the heart.
~It was hard to fathom that Jacob is who created the Smoke Monster. Still trying to reconcile how Man in Black is dead, but that the Smoke Monster has all the knowledge & memories of Man in Black.
~And then the Adam & Eve question answered!
~I was left wanting so much more! I couldn’t believe the hour passed so quickly.
~That’s all for this week. Can’t wait for the next new episode! I’d love to hear your thoughts & theories on anything I’ve written about or something you think I might have missed.

Season 6, Episode 14 – The Candidate
~In all of LOST, I have never cried as much as I did watching this episode.
~Interesting play on words when in the flash sideways Jack tells Locke that he is a candidate for surgery, since Locke was a candidate on the Island until he died.
~Jack’s insistence to stay on the Island has me puzzled. Wonder if the Island will be the only safe place in the world if Not John is able to leave?
~And back to the cages, deja vu, no?
~Still trying to figure out the Catch a Falling Star song that we heard from Claire’s music box. This is the 5th time we’ve heard it now all in relation to Claire &/or Aaron. I think it has a deeper meaning, just not sure what it is.
~Was not very surprised when Kate got shot. I fear she may be another who gets killed before the finale.
~It took me almost 24 hours to realize that Sayid died since I was so caught up in Sun & Jin. I think his sacrifice of his life may have been his attempt to redeem himself for all the bad he has done.
~And then, Sun & Jin. I understand now why they didn’t make Sun & Jin’s reunion as big of a deal as I thought they should have. The dialogue was simply beautiful: “Jin, you have to go” “no, I can do this” “no you can’t” “please go” “I won’t leave you” “I will get you out of here” “go, go, please go” “I won’t leave you, I will never leave you again, I love you Sun” “I love you”. And then their hands drift apart. I’m crying now as I type this. I can’t believe they are gone!
~That’s all for this week. Can’t wait for the next new episode! I’d love to hear your thoughts & theories on anything I’ve written about or something you think I might have missed.

Season 6, Episode 13 – The Last Recruit
~I was pretty let down by this episode. In my opinion, only the last 5 minutes were helpful. Oh well, you can’t have a winner every week!
~So we finally know for sure how these apparent dead people are showing back up on the island. I figured it had something to do with the smoke monster, but it’s nice to have that confirmation.
~Interesting quote from Claire when talking to Jack, “you decided the moment you let him talk to you just like the rest of us, whether you like it or not, you’re with him now”. Not sure if I’m sold on that though. More comment to come in a few.
~Very cool for Jack & Claire to find each other in the flash sideways. All these connections from the island that are showing up in the flash sideways lead me to believe that they all have an important part to play in each other’s lives, island or no island.
~The exchange between Desmond & Sayid at the well was interesting as well. As messed up as Sayid appears to be, I know Desmond’s question, “this woman when she asks you what you did to be with her again, what will you tell her”, got to him.
~Jack’s logic in his discussion with Sawyer has me confused. “I remember how I felt last time I left, like a part of me was missing, we were brought here because we’re supposed to do something, if that thing wants us to leave, maybe it’s afraid of what happens if we stay.” He is searching so hard for something to believe in. I bet he’s really missing Locke, the real John, at this point.
~Although I was thrilled for Sun & Jin to find each other again, I missed the traditional slow motion, run on the beach, dramatic music type scene.
~OK, back to what I was talking about before. Not John says, “Jack, are you alright, don’t worry, it’s going to be ok, you’re with me now!” I think it’s got to be about more than just letting Not John speak to him, Jack. It has be a conscious decision. I just don’t buy this.
~That’s all for this week. Can’t wait for the next new episode, actually kind of relieved not to have one this coming week since I’m on call again! I’d love to hear your thoughts & theories on anything I’ve written about or something you think I might have missed.

Season 6, Episode 11 – Happily Ever After
~I didn’t get to watch on Tuesday night when this episode aired because I was at a work retreat. I was actually kind of thankful when I watched it Wednesday afternoon because there were several times I had to rewind & watch again to catch everything that was happening.
~Love, love, love that this was a Desmond centric episode. He’s one of my favorites!
~It was so strange to grasp that it has only been days since Ben shot Desmond. The timeline is sometimes hard to deal with since we get new info only every 7 days & life on the island is continuing without the gaps we’re having.
~I wonder how Penny & little Charlie are dealing with Desmond being gone. Does Penny know Desmond is with her dad? Did Charles tell Penny why Desmond needed to come with him?
~Am I right in thinking that we didn’t know Widmore had a son? He didn’t have a son in the original timeline did he? I was thoroughly confused with that whole part of the conversation. But evidently he was talking about Daniel.
~So strange to see Desmond & Charles working together in the flash sideways. Didn’t expect that one.
~Did anyone else panic when Charlie forced the car into the water? I for a few moments thought we were going to have to watch Charlie die again! I think if you were to ask Russ & Damaris, they would tell you that I was screaming at the tv.
~The flashes Desmond was seeing in the flash sideways were almost heartbreaking. Seeing Penny, Charlie, the island, etc. & knowing Desmond had no clue just really got to me.
~I knew as soon as Charles said Desmond had to go talk to his wife that it was going to be Eloise. I was shocked by her reaction though. Guess she is a different person with Charles than she is with others (no pun intended).
~And then, seeing Daniel playing the piano & then coming to talk to Desmond. Priceless!!!! And of course Daniel remembers everything. He has to guide Desmond back to his constant!
~Tears in my eyes as Desmond & Penny finally meet at the stadium. Love, love, love their relationship.
~I’m sure most of us agree that Desmond joining Not John’s group with Sayid is all part of the plan to stop Not John, save the island, save the world. I can’t wait to see how he does it though!
~And what will he show the passengers of Oceanic 815? Things get more interesting every single episode!

Season 6, Episode 10 – The Package
~I was so hopeful this week that Sun & Jin would get back together on the Island, but it didn’t happen.
~So, the subbies are spying on Not John’s group. War is coming. Confused about whether Widmore is a good guy or not. Hmmm……
~Claire definitely has a screw loose. I wouldn’t trust her with Aaron in the state she’s in. I hope she can get back on track, but I don’t think that’s going to happen since she seems to be dead!
~Was pretty surprised when we found out that Sun & Jin weren’t married in the flash sideways. But we later find out they’re involved so I guess it all works out. Other than Sun’s dad wanting to kill Jin! Oops!
~Sayid is really having issues – not feeling anything anymore. He & Claire are a bit alike other than Claire was feeling anger towards Kate last week.
~And how come Widmore is looking for Jin?
~Not John trying to get Sun was just not good. I was so afraid she was going to go with him. She didn’t, but now what do we do with her being unable to speak English?
~Interesting to learn that Not John needs all the candidates to get off the island himself. I don’t see that happening!
~Best line of the episode – “a wise man once said war was coming to this island, I think it just got here!”
~Absolutely beautiful to see Jin see his baby girl for the first time!!!!
~As soon as we found out that the package was not a what, but a who, I knew it had to be Desmond! Damaris said she could hear me yelling (she was in bed already) when we found that out!!!
~So Sun is pregnant in the flash sideways. Wonder if it’s Jin’s baby or the other guy, what was his name, hold on, I’ll be right back, I’ve got to Wiki it, ok, got it, it was Jae Lee.
~Jack was so sweet with Sun when he found a way to help her communicate & also brought her the tomato.
~So, so, so happy to see Desmond back!!!!!

*****SPOILER ALERT – IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED 6X09, DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SPOILED!*****
Season 6, Episode 9 – Ab Aeterno
~So we finally get to find out about Richard. What an amazingly dramatic episode! Was actually brought to tears by this episode which hasn’t happened more than a handful of times while watching LOST.
~Ilana is to protect the 6 candidates. How has she been preparing for this though as Jacob alluded too? Is the preparation how she got hurt?
~Was Jacob supposed to tell Richard what to do next? Did he get killed before he had the chance? What doesn’t Jacob just tell Hurley what to do next?
~Richard seems to believe what many viewers of LOST believe, that the island is actually hell. I’m not convinced!
~Isabella is such a beautiful lady, but I prefer Richard without all the facial hair. LOL!
~The idiotic doctor reminds me of many medical professions I’ve had a run in with. Why do so many doctors think they are God’s gift to man? What about that oath, what’s it say, first do no harm?
~Do you think Whitfield is related to Whitmore? Maybe a transition to the name over the years?
~And Hanso is the captain! Hanso of the Dharma Initiative. Just another connection!
~OK, now here is my question about the statue. Didn’t we see the statue completely whole in the 1977 time period? So how could the Black Rock have knocked it over & then it be whole again? Very confused!!!
~Why wasn’t Richard killed by the smoke monster when he killed everyone else? Was he already marked for an important role on the island?
~Interesting to see that when Not John got Ben to kill Jacob that this wasn’t the first time the Man in Black had tried to have Jacob killed.
~Loved the whole wine bottle & cork analogy.
~Not sure why Jacob couldn’t bring Isabella back. It seems he should be able to do anything he wants. And why couldn’t he forgive Richard? Allowing him to live forever seems like it would be torture, having to constantly remember what happened.
~That’s all for this week. Can’t wait for the next new episode! I’d love to hear your thoughts & theories on anything I’ve written about or something you think I might have missed.

Season 6, Episode 8 – Recon
~After last week, this new episode was a bit of a letdown. Of course, I know we can’t have phenomenal episodes every single week. This was still a good episode. Just was hoping for more.
~As the episode started, I was thinking that Sawyer had us all tricked in the flash sideways & he was really going to turn out to be a con man. Imagine my shock when he turns out to be a cop & his partner is Miles. Whoa!
~I was so excited to see Charlotte in this episode. I just wish Sawyer hadn’t screwed things up with her. They made a cute couple.
~When Sawyer runs into Zoe on Hydra Island, I knew something had to be up. I’m thinking it was Not John who killed everybody there. I don’t think Widmore did it. What do you think?
~Had to know Claire attacking Kate was coming. Not John was so full of it though trying to convince Kate that he cared about her. He just cannot be trusted!
~The whole exchange between Kate & Not John on the beach about his past was interested, but confusing. Here’s the stuff I’m referencing. Not John: “you referred to me as a dead man, I’m not a dead man, I know what you’re feeling, what you’re going through” “because my mother was crazy, a long time ago before I looked like this, I had a mother just like everyone, she was a very disturbed woman & as a result of that, I had some growing pains, problems that I’m still trying to work my way through, problems that could have been avoided had things been different” Kate: “why are you telling me this?” Not John: “because now, Aaron has a crazy mother too”. This immediately caused me to reflect on Aaron in the Bible. We know that Aaron was Moses’ younger brother. We know Moses’ (& Aaron’s) mother hid Moses in a basket in the river. We don’t know much more about her. I don’t recall any info about her mindset, but I know that if I had put my son in a basket in the river & he was then taken to be mothered by someone else, I would not be in my right mind!
~Any thoughts on what’s in the locked room on the sub? I can’t even begin to fathom what might be inside.
~I am beyond excited to see Richard’s episode next week. I cannot wait!!!!!
