I can't wait to get back to the States so I can join you on menu planning Monday! Hey, would you consider adding a link showing all the recipes that are your faves?

My suggestion would be to just keep using the crock pot you are using until it doesn't work anymore. One of the stupidest decisions I ever made was getting rid of my crockpot that we got for our wedding (12 years ago) to trade it in for a "fancy" model. It is *not* reliable, doesn't cooked even and my list of complaints grows every time I use it (my latest is that the crock is starting to crack from nothing more than just normal use). My suggestion to you would be to go pick up a $5 lamp timer that will turn on at a certain time to use with it (I'm assuming that you only have three setting with a knob - off, medium and high). That would give you the timer ability and definitely not break the bank.
